The only natural sandalwood forest in Kerala is near to Munnar at Marayoor. The sandalwood of Marayoor is said to be the best in the world.Due to the significant value of the trees the forest is fenced off from the public, but people may visit the depot to see how the wood is processed into oil and fragrant wood crafts.
