In this season of Thanksgiving and other food focused festivals, it seemed appropriate to highlight the artist Matthew Carden. He and his wife Jennifer Carden clearly have a loving relationship with food that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
All too frequently we approach food with the obvious dimensions of taste, texture, visual appeal… But Carden’s playful perspectives, taking an “insect eye view”, to me is a reminder of how fresh food looms large in our lives.
