Urban Markets play an important role in the Indian economy. A large number of people depend upon these ideal places to get fresh local vegetables and fruits. 

Some markets, like the one pictured above, are located near parks and main thoroughfares. Others are made up of permanently located stalls along canals and side roads. Either way, urban markets are both a fine place to purchase ingredients and to people watch in India.
