Yes they are! They’re actually in the same family as kingfishers, but are distinctly “old world” birds, primarily in Africa and across Asia, but also nesting in Europe. When they’re excited those feathers on the head are raised into a fan-like crown, making them look even more exotic! Thanks for the comment and stop by again soon.
