Kanha National Park Canon Tutorial

This is one of my favourite images from Kanha National Park. Half the work of a photographer is being a keen observer of your surroundings, always being on the look out for pleasing compositions wherever you are.

In many images the background makes or breaks the subject. The reddish meadows of Kanha in the background and the evening golden light made this image for me.

A key advice for Canon and Nikon users – As far as possible try to use the proprietary RAW conversion software provided by the manufacturer. Canon DPP for Canon users and Capture NX for Nikon.

Canon DPP is a free software which is provided in the CD which comes with the camera. Capture NX needs to be purchased for around $140. But it’s worth it.

I opened this image in Adobe Camera RAW(ACR) and Canon DPP and could see a huge difference in the colours reproduced. Colours from ACR were a bit dull compared to DPP. I will post a side by side pic of this later to show the difference.
