The Periyar Tiger Reserve is one of the major wildlife sanctuaries in India. It is home to elephants, wild gaur, leopards, wild boar, deer, and of course tigers, in addition to over 300 species of birds, a dazzling variety of butterflies, and plenty of reptiles and amphibians.
Here, green and blue merge to create a splendid scene of beauty, since the Periyar River is sandwiched by the forest and the sky. Boating and especially trekking can offer a glimpse of the interior of the forest and the banks of Lake Periyar, where wildlife can be seen.

It is always neat to learn how the wildlife sanctuaries all over the world.
