Urbanscape

Vimeo is one of the many slippery slopes on the mountainous terrain aka the internets.  The creativity unleashed there can knock you head over heels.  Nonetheless, we must risk those slopes.  And give credit where it is due.  Just two hours ago Moritz Oberholzer commented on this video, and how it was created (including his credit where due):

First of all, I am absolutely overwhelmed by the positive reactions the video generates! A big “Thank you” to vimeo, it’s users and all the bloggers and tweeters for giving the clip such a platform. The internet is sometimes great!

Because I receive a lot of questions and want to avoid further confusion, here are some additional points:

– The slowmotion was achieved through high framerate recording (120fps)

– I used always a regular London bus, not a “London Tour Bus”

– Equipment (I personally think this isn’t so important, because any camera with slomo will do the job and this could have been edited in iMovie): sony xr550 / twoneil 35mm adapter / fcp7 / oyster card

– The reason for the “milky” colors is the 35mm adapter who projects the picture first on a “screen” which is filmed then by the cam

– Time spent on the bus: 30 hours (including cigarette breaks)

We also love the thanks (not to be mistaken for credit) he gives here on the page where the video can be seen along with reference to that catchy music:

Thanks to Angela, my delightful girlfriend, for the support!

Indeed, thank you Angela.
