From Behind the Wheel

Road sign in Kerala’s Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary

Driving in India can be an eye opening experience.  Or you can close your eyes if you have the confidence. We’ve written about it several times over the past year, usually from the point of view of the passenger’s seat, but occasionally from the “right-hand seat” as well.

Here we introduce a series showing glimpses of India seen from the road. Selvaraj Kizhakkedath is not only a great (safe) driver, but an astute observer.  A driver at best is like a good nature guide.  He or she not only must have a good eye, but a good sense of timing and direction.

With “From Behind the Wheel” we hope to provide a sense of what we see day to day from our car, in urban and rural settings.
