Cuphea is a flowering plant native to the tropical regions of Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras. More than 250 species of Cupheas grow around the world, including both perennial and annual varieties.

Cupheas are commonly found in Kerala’s high-range gardens above 1200 meters.
