South Indian Classical Dance

Guests at Cardamom County are usually out and about enjoying the Periyar Tiger Reserve, the town or the spice plantations during the day, but in the evening there’s a lot of excitement at Cardamom County, especially as we head in to the holiday season.

No matter how tired from the day’s excursions, every evening at around 6pm guests seem to suddenly be filled with new energy, with feet tapping to the beats from our DJ Jake playing amazing music. That second wind brings people poolside to enjoy some beer or wine along with the music, followed by the mesmerizing experience of watching classical Indian dances reflected in the still waters of the pool. Indian classical dance is said to represent culture, tradition and history and where better to enjoy it than under the star filled sky.
