Badami, situated in modern Karnataka, was once the majestic capital of the royal Chalukyas between the 4th and 8th century — now it is a rural town famous for the monuments and remnants that remain. The Badami temple is located between two sandstone hills; a number of historical and religious structures are present (Hindu, Jain and Budhist), and draw the curiosity of tourists from around the world.
The surviving relics convey the pluralistic and secular vision of that time.
wow! I would so love to visit this place!
