Queen Flower (Lagerstroemia speciosa)

The Queen flower is a small to medium sized tropical flowering tree growing to a height of 20mts, native to southern India and the Philippines. It has smooth rounded leaves and beautiful lavender flowers which will add beauty to any landscape.

In the month of April, the flower and the leaves of the tree appear in a great style. The tree blooms until the month of July, when the hot season ends.

The bark and leaves of Queen flowers are purgative; the roots are astringent, stimulant and antipyretic and can even control cholesterol levels.
