Banasura Sagar Dam is situated about 16 Km from Kalpetta in Wayanad district. It is constructed in the Banasura Lake and the nearby mountains are known as the Banasura hills. It is the largest earth dam in India and second largest in Asia.

The surrounding rolling hills and picturesque lake make Banasura a prime Wayanad tourist destination.
